PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for separating board base paper from a gypsum board completely separating the gypsum from the paper in a very short time and simply, when separating the board base paper from the board body like waste gypsum boards. SOLUTION: When the gypsum board 14 having the gypsum board body 20 and paper 29 covering the surface of the board body 20 passes through between a pair of separating rollers 31 provided in a carrying passage 2 of the apparatus 1 for separating the board base paper, the paper is separated from the gypsum board body 20 by needle-like protrusions 32 provided on the outer peripheral face of the separating rollers 31. A remover adhesion means for weakening the adhesive force of the gypsum board 14 with the paper 29 is provided in the upstream side of the separating rollers 31 in the carrying passage 2.
