PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid stepping motor wherein iron loss and cogging torque are reduced and output torque is enhanced. SOLUTION: The stepping motor includes a stator and a rotor. The stator includes: a stator core having salient poles and small teeth at the tips of the salient poles; and stator coils disposed between the salient poles. The rotor includes: rotor cores having a large number of small teeth on their surfaces opposite the stator; and a permanent magnet sandwiched between the rotor cores in the axial direction. The stator core and the rotor cores are made of a laminated steel plate. The salient poles and yoke of the steel plate are formed by etching. The thickness of the steel plate is 0.05 to 0.30 mm.
