The present invention relates to an optical element for variable information boards consisting of an RGB LED diode (1), a co-axially arranged lightguide (2) disposed after the diode (1) and a co-axially arranged optical lens (3) disposed after the lightguide (2). The optical lens (3) is arranged on the side turned away from the diode (1) and is performed as astigmatic. The lightguide body (2) is formed by an inlet truncated square pyramid (11) and an outlet truncated square pyramid (12), which are fixedly coupled with each other by top surfaces of identical cross section, whereby the height of the inlet pyramid (11) is at least 1.2 mm and at the same time it is less than the height of the outlet pyramid (12). The apex angle of both the inlet pyramid (11) and the outlet pyramid (12) is acute.
