PURPOSE: An apparatus for guiding contact information by using the short message service of a mobile telephone and a method thereof are provided to input and store automatically the information of a contact place in the mobile telephone by using a letter transmission message of the mobile telephone so as to guide the information of the contact place. CONSTITUTION: A search word is required from a user(100). The contact information desired by the user is searched by using the search word(102). A short message including the searched contact information is generated to transfer the user's terminal(112). The short message is transferred to a message transferring apparatus so as to transfer the user's terminal(114).
