PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulating wire in which thick-filming of an enamel layer can be realized without reducing adhesion strength of the conductor of the insulating wire and the enamel layer. SOLUTION: The inverter surge resistance insulated wire comprises: at least one layer of an enamel-baked layer on the outer periphery of a conductor whose cross-section is rectangular form; and at least one layer of an extrusion coating resin layer on the outside of it, wherein at least one thickness of the thickness of an extrusion coating resin layer prepared on a pair of two sides of this cross-section countering each other is 60μm or more in sum total with the thickness of an enamel-baked layer, the thickness of enamel-baked layer is 50μm or less, the extrusion coating resin layer is made of a resin material (excluding polyetheretherketone) which has a tensile modulus of elasticity of 1,000 MPa or more at 25°C and a tensile modulus of elasticity of 10 MPa or more at 250°C, and one thickness of an extrusion coating resin layer prepared on a pare of two sides of the cross-section countering each other is different from another thickness of an extrusion coating resin layer prepared on the other pair of two sides countering each other.
