PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus reducing blur of images, and also to provide an electronic apparatus employing the image display apparatus. SOLUTION: The image display apparatus includes: a display section 13; a remote controller 14; an image processing section 12 for processing a video signal on the basis of a setting screen aspect ratio and allowing the display section 13 to display an image; a storage device 16a to which a plurality of screen aspect ratios are set, the aspect ratios including an aspect ratio in a through-mode wherein pixels of the display section 13 correspond to pixel signals of the video signals by 1 :1; and a control section 16 for selecting a screen aspect ratio of the storage device 16a on the basis of an operation signal from the remote controller 14 and setting the selected aspect ratio to the image processing section 12.
