The sub-frame is pivotally connected to the main frame of the device. At least one sub-frame is connected to the main frame and has a base joined to it which presents a flat support surface facing away from the sub-frame. This surface is urged against the product (6). The base includes a product release means which cooperates with a rind removal mechanism mounted on the sub-frame. An independent claim is also included for a cheese processing apparatus (1) comprising these rind removing devices (9-13) arranged along a cheese transport path (5).
