PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication apparatus configured to prevent a situation where information unique to a person to be authenticated is requested in addition to physical feature, during authentication, and to provide a program.SOLUTION: An authentication apparatus includes: feature acquisition means which acquires feature of a person to be authenticated; extraction means which extracts a registrant having similarity, which is equal to or higher than a first threshold, between the feature of a registrant stored in advance and the feature acquired by the feature acquisition means; and identifying means which identifies a registrant of the highest similarity exceeding the first threshold extracted by the extraction means, as a person to be authenticated, when there is no other registrant whose similarity to the registrant extracted by the extraction means exceeds a second threshold, in the registrants stored in advance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
