<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bulb lying projector type vehicular head light with a simple configuration, which raises the maximum luminous intensity near the center of a light distribution pattern and increases total luminous flux of irradiation light. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicular head light 10 comprises: a projection lens 15 arranged on an optical axis; a light source bulb 11 approximately lying which is arranged behind the rear focus position of the projection lens 15; a main reflector 12 which reflects backward light from the light source bulb, and focuses it on the rear focus position of the projection lens 15; a subreflector 13 arranged in front and on sides of the light source bulb, which reflects forward light from the light source bulb to the tip region of the light source bulb; a flat surface mirror 14 in the tip region of the light source bulb, which focuses the light reflected from the subreflector 13 on the rear focus position of the projection lens 15; and a shutter 16 arranged near the rear focus position of the projection lens 15. The light source bulb is arranged below the optical axis in such a way that the light emission center of the bulb is shifted in an opposite direction in relation to the tip of the bulb. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
