PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pitch pattern generation method capable of generating a pitch pattern having variations in the natural degree of enhancement. SOLUTION: A rhythm control unit pattern generating section 16 generates the pitch pattern 103 for each rhythm control unit, based on language attribute information 100, a rhythm continuation time length 111 and enhancement degree information 200, and a deformation method determining section 14 determines a deformation method, by smoothing processing on the pitch pattern 103, in at least one rhythm control unit of previous and following units of the rhythm control unit and generates deformation method information 104, based on at least the enhancement degree information 200. A pattern connecting section 13 generates a sentence pitch pattern 121 that corresponds to a text which is an object of speech synthesis, by deforming and connecting the pitch pattern 103 generated for each rhythm control unit by the smoothing processing, according to the deformation method information 104.
