A lithium secondary battery equipped with a separator is provided to prevent the degradation of lifetime property according to the deterioration of a negative electrode active material and to improve capacity of a battery. A lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode equipped with a positive electrode active material and; a negative electrode equipped with a negative electrode active material layer; and a separator separating the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The separator comprises a porous membrane bonded with a binder and a ceramic material capable of intercalating or deintercalating ions. The ceramic material consists of one or a plurality of materials selected from the group consisting of SiO, SnO, SnO2, PbO2, ZnO, P2O5, CuO, MoO, V2O5, B2O3, Si3N4, CeO2, Mn3O4, Sn2P2O7, Sn2B2O5, and Sn2BPO6. |
