FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a liquid composition with non-lethal irritant effect on humans and animals for arming self-defense agents. A composition is proposed, containing at least one irritant, thickener, dimethyl sulfoxide and an organic solvent or a mixture of organic solvents. The irritant can be oleoresin capsicum or 1-methoxy-1,3,5-cycloheptatriene, or a mixture of dibenz[b,f]-1,4-oxazepine and pelargonic acid morpholide. The organic solvent can be monobasic alcohol or propylene glycol. The mixture of organic solvents can be a mixture of 1,1,5-trihydrooctafluoroheptanol and 1,1,7-trihydrododecafluoroheptanol.
