PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber which inhibits overshoot of a damping force caused by a response lag of a pressure control valve and oscillation of the damping force caused by self-excited vibration of a valve body.SOLUTION: A shock absorber includes: a cylinder in which a fluid is enclosed; a piston which slidably fits in the cylinder; a piston rod connected with the piston and extending to the outside of the cylinder; and a damping force generating device which controls fluid flow generated by sliding movement of the piston in the cylinder. The damping force generating device includes: a valve body which opens or closes to generate a damping force on a passage in which the fluid flows; a valve seat which closes the passage when the valve seat is seated thereon; and an actuator which generates a thrust force to the valve body in a valve closing direction. The valve seat is a first elastic body which elastically deforms in the valve closing direction of the valve body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
