PURPOSE: An electroluminescent polymer is provided which has a good electron transport, thermal stability and instantaneous brightness. CONSTITUTION: Oxadiazole derivatives(formula I; aromatic ring is II or III; n is 1- 12; p is 5- 100; R1 is aliphatic alkyl£(CH2)nCH3; n is 1- 12| or aliphatic alkoxy£(OCH2CH2)mCH3; m is 1- 4|; R2 is branched alkyl£CH2CHCH3(OCH2CH3)mCH3; m is 1- 4| are prepared by binding of bis(2-bromo-5-hexyloxybenzyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole(bis(2-bromo-5-hexyloxybenzyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole compound and p-divinylbenzene. Thus, 9.2 g of bis(2-bromo-5-hexyloxybenzoyl)hydrazine is reacted with 30 ml of POCl3 at 70 degree C for 30 hours to give bis(2-bromo-5-hexyloxybenzoyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole. Obtained 0.7 g of bis(2-bromo-5-hexyloxybenzoyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole and 0.155 g of p-divinylbenzene are reacted at 100 degree C for 40 hours in the presence of Pd(OAc)2, tri-o-tolylphosphine and triethylamine to give title polymer. |
