The method involves extracting an active amine from the wood impregnated with a wood preservative. The active amine is extracted by pH-value-lowering. The active amine is extracted by action of a reactive gas and a volatile material. The extraction of the active amine is accomplished during a negative pressure effect and a positive pressure effect. The extraction of the active amine is accomplished with temporally variable pressure effects. Carbon dioxide is used as decomplexation reactive substance.
