The device has a register (103), and a set of input channels (2a-2d), where information stored in the register are variably assigned to one of the input channels by corresponding assignment bits. The assignment bits are stored in separate fields of the register. An analog multiplexer is provided in the converter device, where the input channels are provided as internal test input channels. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an analog-digital converter device.
