<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a webbing winding device which does not give a sense of incongruity such as uncomfortable feeling due to rapid winding up of a webbing belt when there exists an obstacle which is not particularly dangerous in the front. <P>SOLUTION: An acceleration sensor 98 and a forward monitoring device 88 are connected to an ECU 86 controlling a motor 60. When a High-level obstacle detection signal from a forward monitoring device 88 is inputted to the ECU 86, the ECU 86 intermittently supplies low-level electric current into a motor 60 by operating a driver, and slowly winds up the webbing belt 28. Therefore, an occupant does not feel a sense of incongruity such as uncomfortable feeling. When a High-level acceleration signal from the acceleration sensor 88 is inputted into the ECU 86, the ECU 86 continuously supplies high-level electric current into the motor 60 by operating the driver, and rapidly winds up the webbing belt 28 and rapidly raises up restraint force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
