PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To moderate speed for decreasing a lubricating film coated on the surface of a slider, and to made a head crash generated in a magnetic disk unit hardly generated. SOLUTION: The head slider has a slider body having a floating surface, a magnetic head provided at the slider body, and a lubricating layer formed on the floating surface and composed of a fluororesin. A value indicating wettability in a part of a region on the surface of the floating surface having the lubricating layer is made larger than a value indicating wettability in the other region excluding a part of the region described above.
