The method involves pre-stressing a drive train before closing a friction coupling (28) by slippage controlled connection of another friction coupling (30) and by activation of high gear ratio in a change speed gearbox i.e. double clutch gear (16). The slippage controlled connection of the latter friction coupling is controlled in such a manner that a shock-free breakout of a drive moment effected on a driven wheel of a motor vehicle is attained. An independent claim is also included for a device for performing a method for switching a hybrid drive device for a motor vehicle.
