Provided is a glass having high heat resistance, a low thermal expansion coefficient, and excellent productivity. This glass is characterized by containing, as the glass composition thereof, 55-80 mol% SiO2, 12-30 mol% Al2O3, 0-3 mol% B2O3, 0-1 mol% Li2O + Na2O + K2O, and 5-35 mol% MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO, and by the thermal expansion coefficient in a temperature range of 30-380°C being less than 40 × 10-7/°C. |
