<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of expansion gas from a joint and a connecting part between panels of an air bag. <P>SOLUTION: This air bag to protect a vehicle occupant includes an inside panel and an outside panel connected to each other to form a small chamber free to expand. The air bag includes a cloth sealing member to connect peripheral parts of the inside panel and the outside panel. The sealing member is arranged on both of the inside and the outside of the small chamber free to expand. A certain part of yarn from the sealing member is perfectly arranged in the small chamber free to expand. The air bag includes the cloth connecting member connected to the inside panel and the outside panel at a position separated from the panel peripheral part, and consequently, it is possible to form a region which is arranged in the small chamber free to expand but cannot be expanded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
