The invention relates to a method of preparing cyclodextrin oligomers or polymers, wherein the cyclodextrin molecules are covalently coupled to one another via a spacer arm, based on a coupling reaction between an alkyne and an azide resulting in the formation of an aromatic heterocyclic bridge between the coupled units. The invention also relates to the cyclodextrin oligomers or polymers obtained and to the uses thereof.
