A method of copying data from an initial logical volume to at least one other logical volume, comprising: initializing a table-with entries corresponding to different portions of the initial logical volume, wherein each of the entries is initialized with a first value indicative of an absence of write requests; following initializing the table, providing a second value different from the first value to an entry in the table corresponding to a portion of the initial logical volume to which a write operation is performed, the second value indicative of a write request; establishing a current set of extents, wherein the first value is provided to entries in the table that correspond to portions of the initial logical volume indicated by the current set of extents; determining if any of the entries in the table is set to the second value while establishing the current set of extents; invalidating previously-established sets of extents corresponding to entries in the table that are set to the second value; and copying the data of the initial logical volume corresponding to the current set of extents to the at least one other logical volume, wherein copying all the data is aborted in response to any of the entries in the table corresponding to the current set of extents having the second value. | ||
