PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image display device having a reduced size and cost. SOLUTION: The image processor is equipped with an image processing means of generating output image data SFDn of one frame (one screen) by processing source image data D. When one frame is divided into four sub-frames and resolution conversion processing by a linear interpolation method is performed on a time-division basis in the unit of the sub-frames, the output image of the one frame is divided into a plurality of sub-frames and the source image data D is processed in every sub-frame period to sequentially generate four sub-frame output image data SFD1 to SFD4. Consequently, the constitution of the image processing means is reduced, and the need for a memory for storing output data after the image processing is eliminated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
