An actuator (1) for a hand-held aerosol container designed to be fitted in the top of the container and having a dispensing valve, wherein said actuator comprises: (i) a spray channel with fluid interconnection with the valve and adapted to spray aerosol through the spray aperture; (ii) a cup-shaped cap (3) attachable to the container and comprising a sidewall forming the spray aperture through which spray can be discharged, and a top wall with a cut-out through which the spray channel passes, the edges of the named cut-out restricting lateral movement of the spray channel; (iii) an actuator button (5) comprising a finger pad and a push element extending downwards from the named finger pad, the named button is mounted in the cap so that it is able to enable the actuator by means of the first movement in the direction approximately transverse to the vertical axis of the cap, and the second movement by depression of the button inside the cap, the push element is able to press the spray channel (4), and the spray channel (4) is able to press the valve after the first movement of the actuator button (5); wherein the possibility is provided to switch the actuator button (5) during the first movement to a position where the second movement causes discharge of the container content, the possibility is provided to prevent the push element pressing the spray channel before the first movement of the button (5) by means of the first boss extending downwards from the pad of the actuator button (5) and engaging the second boss extending upwards from the upper surface of the top wall, the first boss is able to slide down beyond the second boss after the first movement of the actuator button (5), which is implemented with an ability of the first movement being affected by the force of at least 5 N. |
