This information providing system (1) is provided with a storage unit (13) which stores difference data, a first acquisition unit (S10, S11), a difference calculation unit (S20, S22, S21, S23), a correction unit (S12, S33) and a presenting unit (S32, S35). The difference data includes difference data groups each corresponding to a road segments including multiple difference data records. Each difference data record indicates difference information about the difference between a predicted travel time needed to travel a road segment and a measured travel time, which is how long it has taken a vehicle to actually travel the road segment. The first acquisition unit acquires the predicted travel time needed for a vehicle to travel the target road segment at the current time. The difference calculation unit calculates a difference statistic by performing prescribed statistical processing on the difference data records corresponding to the target road segment. The correction unit calculates a difference-adjusted needed time by adjusting, on the basis of the difference statistic, the predicted travel time acquired by the first acquisition unit. |
