<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact oxygen sensor having an excellent gas responsiveness, capable of being rapidly heated up, and presenting excellent strength even in the case of repeated rapid heating up. <P>SOLUTION: In the oxygen sensor with a detection part 1 which has a measuring electrode 5 at an outer surface near a tip end of a long-length zirconia solid electrolyte board 3 with an air introduction hole for introducing air and has a reference electrode 4 on a wall face of inside air introduction hole 3a for facing against the measuring electrode 5, the whole element width w which is in an orthogonal direction to a longitudinal direction of the detection part 1 and parallel to the electrodes 4, 5, is from 2.0 to 3.5 (mm), and ratio (n/w) of the width n, which is parallel to the electrodes 4, 5 in the air introduction hole, to the whole sensor width w is from 0.1 to 0.6, and ratio Vo/Vp of the section area Vo of the air introduction hole 3a occupying in the entire section area Vp of the whole sensor in the orthogonal direction of the longitudinal direction of the detection part 1 is in a range from 0.001 to 0.25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
