PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide edible chewing gum which an eater can swallow after enjoying as chewing gum so that beautification effect can be expected through taking the gum because collagen in the gum has positive effect such as increase in moisture retainability of the skin or bone density, or improvement in nail tissues. SOLUTION: The edible chewing gum is obtained through the following process: using one or several kinds of natural collagen comprising animal collagen, fish and shellfish collagen or marine product collagen so that collagen molecules of the natural collagen comprise partially-decomposed collagen where triple helix spirals are loosened each into a piece of bar-state one; and formulating the partially-decomposed collagen with acidic gelatin or alkaline gelatin, saccharides, oil and fat, organic acid and perfume material.
