<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To periodically perform a normality confirmation test before incorporating a CELL (board on which processor plus main memory are mounted) as a target by using a normal BIOS starting mechanism in an information processing system in which a multi-partition configuration can be constructed, a service processor can freely change a partition configuration, a standby CELL is mounted and the standby CELL can be incorporated when an operating CELL fails and is exptended. <P>SOLUTION: As shown in Figure 1, this standby CELL test system comprises a plurality of partitions and the service processor connected to the respective partitions to be able to freely change the partition configuration. Each partition in the system is constituted of a combination of a CELL node composed of a main memory and an I/O node composed of an I/O device, and a BIOS in charge of system starting control and an OS operating the system operate on the CPU. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
