A transflective LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to remove a reflecting electrode and a quarter wave plate to simplify the structure of a transflective LCD and reduce light loss in a transmission mode to improve transmissivity. A transflective LCD includes a first substrate(110), a second substrate(130) opposite to the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer(150) interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, a first polarizer(155) formed on the backside of the first substrate, and a second polarizer(165) formed on the second substrate. The transflective LCD further includes a back light unit(170) located behind the first polarizer, and a transflective film(160) formed between the first polarizer and the back light unit. The transflective film is formed in such a manner that a plurality of first layers and a plurality of second layer are alternately laminated to reflect some of incident light and transmit some of the incident light. |
