In one embodiment, the present invention includes a method for allocating a fail-over memory region, determining if multiple processors have reached a rendezvous state, and verifying a memory failure in a system software memory region associated with a non-rendezvousing processor and sending a message to the non-rendezvousing processor to update a range register to the fail-over memory region.
