PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device capable of accurately recognizing the operation of a user, and a program.SOLUTION: An input device 100 includes a first detection part 102 which is provided in a first surface and can detect contact, a display part 103, a second detection part 104 which is provided in a second surface adjacent to the first surface and arranged in parallel to the long side of the display part 103, and can detect the contact, and a control part 5 which variably sets the detection effective area of the second detection part 104 in the long side direction of the second detection part 104 on the basis of the detection result of the second detection part 104.
