PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic disk apparatus having higher reliability for read-out of data. SOLUTION: A servo gate signal, which indicates whether magnetic information read out from a disk 70 by a head 60 is servo data for positioning-use or user data stored in a user area available for reading and writing of given data, is input in a preamplifier 40. In the preamplifier 40, a servo data gain and a user data gain are set in advance. Based on a received servo gate signal, the preamplifier 40 changes the gain depending on whether the head 60 outputs the servo data or the user data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
