PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residence safety supporting apparatus which can monitor phenomena occurring in a house and an office, enables a user to determine the possibility that an accident or failure occurs, can inform the user of it, and specify its cause. SOLUTION: In a center server provided with a communication interface for connecting a variety of measurement sensors 160 to an external center server 200 via a communication line (n), the residence safety supporting apparatus is provided with: a means for overwriting video sound data of a video camera 120 in a storage apparatus in a main body 100 repetitively at specified intervals and a means for transmitting to the center server via the communication center interface the video sound data at and after a predetermine time before the set time has been reached or it is decided that there is abnormality when the set time has been reached and a central information processor determines the abnormality by computation/decision processing on the basis of the data.
