Provided is an aluminum alloy for die casting, which despite containing Cu in a proportion such that improved mechanical strength is achieved, experiences no appreciable loss of corrosion resistance, and is suitable for critical safety components of automobiles and the like, and a die cast aluminum alloy die-cast from this alloy. Specifically, the present invention provides an aluminum alloy for die casting, characterized by containing, in wt%, 0.03% < Cu ≤ 0.7%, 6.0% < Si ≤ 11.0%, 0.15% ≤ Mg ≤ 0.50%, 0.05% ≤ Fe ≤ 0.6%, 0.05% ≤ Ti ≤ 0.25%, Mn ≤ 0.8%, and 0.10% ≤ Cr ≤ 0.40%, the remainder being Al and unavoidable impurities. |
