<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing methanol which allows both of effective use of resources and economic operation when producing methanol using a coal origin gas as a raw material gas. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing methanol comprising a reformer which produces a synthetic gas composed of hydrogen, carbon mono oxide and carbon dioxide as a principal constituent by reacting a raw material gas with steam, a crude methanol synthesis reactor which synthesize a crude methanol by reacting the synthetic gas on a methanol synthesis catalyst and a distilling tower which separates the crude methanol into a waste water containing a low boiling point organic compound and a high boiling point organic compound and a purified methanol wherein a hydrogen recovery means which draw out a predetermined amount of hydrogen from a gas in a flow path is provided at least one flow path of an upstream side flow path and a downstream side flow path of the reformer is used for producing methanol using the coal origin gas as a raw material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
