<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce reaction force to a head portion and a neck portion of an occupant while ensuring restraining performance to both shoulders of the occupant, and to simplify a structure. <P>SOLUTION: In the airbag device for a vehicle, a longitudinal low pressure expanding portion 52 is formed on an inside surface of an occupant side tip end portion 50A of an airbag body 50 of a single chamber structure. A plurality of communication holes 56 is formed on the low pressure expanding portion 52. Though the low pressure expanding portion 52 expands when gas flows into through the communication holes 56 after the airbag body 50 expands, the low pressure expanding portion 52 expands with pressure lower than the inner pressure of the airbag body 50. The head portion of the occupant abuts on the low pressure expanding portion 52, thereby reducing the reaction force to the head portion and the neck portion of the occupant. Furthermore, the low pressure expanding portion 52 is just sewed on the inside surface of the airbag body 50, so that the structured is simple. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
