PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a part without a core cord from occurring by drawing in the core cord in eyelet button hole stitches. SOLUTION: An eyelet button hole sewing machine M has: a sewing mechanism equipped with a sewing needle 4, loopers 10a and 10b for moving to the right and left reciprocally, a needle swing mechanism 260, and a core cord insertion hole 25a for supplying the core cord 30; a rotating mechanism 14 capable of rotating the sewing mechanism; a relative movement mechanism for relatively moving processed fabric and the sewing mechanism 14; and aθdirection driving motor 23, an X direction driving motor 410, and a Y direction driving motor 420 for driving the sewing mechanism, the rotating mechanism 14, and the relative movement mechanism. In the eyelet button hole sewing machine M for forming a right straight line sewing stitch 339a, an eyelet sewing stitch 339c, and a left straight line sewing stitch 339b successively while sewing the core cord 30 from a thread supply source in, a controller 308 performs control so that the stitch width Wa of the sewing start area 339a1 is smaller than a sewing width Wo in a first normal area 339a2.
