PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a line fault cannot be quickly detected on the basis of a difference between receiving times of a plurality of pieces of information. SOLUTION: The communication device includes: a control part which receives a first piece of information to be transmitted from a partner device to be connected by first and second lines via the first line, and a second piece of information to be transmitted simultaneously as the first information via the second line; and a detection part which detects the line fault of the second line by the second piece of information being not received by the control part within first monitoring time, after receiving the first piece of information.
