摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a variation in ejection amount of a droplet or in droplet speed easily. SOLUTION: A plurality of drive waveforms formed for every rank of natural frequency are prepared previously by a correction magnification table formed from the relation between the natural frequency and the ink drop volume of a sample ink jet recording head manufactured by a manufacturing process identical to that of the ink jet recording head. Natural frequency data acquired by measuring the natural frequency of the piezoelectric transducer in a correction object ink jet recording head for every nozzle is read in (150), a drive waveform dependent on the rank of natural frequency is selected among a plurality of drive waveforms prepared previously (152), correction data indicative of the selected drive waveform is created (154), and a variation in ejection amount of an ink drop is corrected based on the correction data before an ink drop is ejected.
