PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catching tool of two-pronged weapon shape for catching a robber or allowing safe evacuation when a robber breaks into a school, a convenience store or the like. SOLUTION: This catching tool is used mounted to the tip of a long rod 1. A right arm 3 and a left arm 4 for catching the robber are formed of elastic wire rods or plates such as spring members and projected forward. Front parts of the right and left arms projected forward are folded in a state of inclining backward toward the center to form first folded sides 5, 6. Further, in a position where the first folded sides 5, 6 folded from both right and left sides approach more narrowly than the size of an object to be caught, the tips are folded toward the sides to form second folded sides 7, 8.
