PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pen core for an applicator, which has no occurrence of a coating (writing) failure even if neglected for a prolonged period, by suppressing a pigment setting and a hard cake formation in a pen core, and an applicator using the pen core.SOLUTION: An applicator pen core A is constituted of a porous body for applying a coating liquid containing at least a pigment and is characterized by having pigment settling suppression parts 11 and 11 therein.
