<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compatibility decision device and a program capable of deciding compatibility appropriately among a plurality of elements to be used by electronic musical equipment. <P>SOLUTION: A music content reproduction program holds version information that a self version = 4.0 and a version of reproducible music content = 1.0 and 2.0 and, when the music content holds version information that the self version = 3.0 and a version of the reproducible reproduction program = 4.0 and 5.0, the version 4.0 of the reproduction program is reproducible on the music content side, so that in the reproduction program, the music content of the version 3.0 can be reproduced without problem by the reproduction program of the version 4.0, even without a description that the music content of the version 3.0 is reproducible.
