PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation device with which it is possible to prevent an erratic operation by an unintended touch while suppressing variation in operator-dependent operability as a touch pad, and to maintain excellent operability as a touch pad even when detecting an absolute position in a touch pad plane.SOLUTION: Provided is a steering ST including a touch pad 1 having a touch pad plane 2 provided at a position at which operation by an operator of a steering ST is possible, wherein the steering ST detects the position of the entire touch pad plane 2 relative to an operable area when a cover C1 for shielding a shielding area in which the operation is to be shielded and having an opening H that corresponds to a contact to the operable area in the touch pad plane 2 is mounted to the touch pad plane 2, and outputs an operation signal, on the basis of the detected position, that corresponds to the mode of operation by the operator to the operable area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
