MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR LED PRINTING HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the necessity that a lens array is fixed to a base on the basis of a measured value of a height size by measuring the height size in an optical axis direction of the lens array at the time of positioning the lens array to the base because the height size in the optical axis direction of the lens array is conventionally changed so as to make a conjugate length TC of the lens array constant to avoid the unevenness of optical characteristics of rod lenses.

SOLUTION: A plurality of lens arrays made constant in height size in the optical axis direction are prepared. The conjugate length TC is measured for each lens array. The plurality of lens arrays are divided to several ranks on the basis of the measured values of the conjugate length TC. A median value of the conjugate length TC is calculated for every rank. A lens array group belonging to a predetermined rank is selected. One of the lens array group selected to the base is fixed so that a distance between the center of the height size in the optical axis direction of the selected lens array group and an LED element becomes 1/2 of the median value of the conjugate length TC of the predetermined rank. Thus the LED printing head is manufactured.
