PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coating compositions which can form surfaces allowing easy removal of fingerprints, methods of producing the compositions and methods of removing the fingerprints.SOLUTION: A catalyst-free coating composition comprises: (a) a zwitterionic compound comprising at least one sulfonate-functional group, such as (CH3O)3Si-CH2CH2CH2-N+(CH3)2-CH2CH2CH2-SO3- and (CH3CH2O)2Si(CH3)-CH2CH2CH2-N+(CH3)2-CH2CH2CH2-SO3-, and alkoxysilane groups and/or silanol-functional groups; (b) alcohol and/or water; and (c) a tetraalkoxysilane, oligomers thereof, lithium silicate, sodium silicate, potassium silicate, silica, or combinations thereof.EFFECT: Fingerprints are removable from a dried coating of the coating composition with wiping.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
