PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder reducing the failures related to the video signals and audio signals to be transmitted, and to provide a decoder and their program.SOLUTION: An encoder 1 includes a coding unit 11 for encoding the information of video signals to be transmitted, a transmission unit 12 for transmitting the encoded information and its session ID while housing them in a packet of a predetermined stream, and an encoder control unit 13 for updating the session ID to a different value, when there is a change in the setting of the encoding and packet transmission, and determination is made based on a predetermined reference that continuous decoding operation is impossible. The decoder 2 includes a decoder control unit 24 for controlling to continue the decoding of information in a received packet, when the reception abnormality of a packet is not continuing over a predetermined threshold, or so long as the value of the session ID is not changed, with regard to a packet received from the encoder 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
