1. A pedicle screw assembly comprising:
a pedicle screw having a threaded shaft and a knurled head; a tulip head having a channel aligned along an X axis, the channel being configured to receive a rod and being defined by opposing walls with threaded inner surfaces and a bottom opening configured to receive the shaft of the pedicle screw, the bottom opening being configured to allow the threaded shaft of the pedicle screw to rotate in a circumferential manner about the X axis; a washer having a cut portion configured to receive the rod and a knurled inner surface configured to engage the knurled head of the pedicle screw; and a set screw having threaded outer walls capable of engaging the threaded inner surfaces of the opposing walls of the tulip head, the set screw having a bottom surface capable of locking the rod in the cut portion of the washer and in the channel in the tulip head when the set screw is advanced along the opposing walls of the tulip head, and brought into contact with the rod.
