<p>The waffles are made from a paste which is cooked in a mould. Immediately after cooking the waffles are split in two, parallel to their faces, to receive the filling; the two parts are then united to form a sandwich. These waffles have hitherto been made by hand, using moulds made in two halves which open like a book. In the new machine all the operations are effected automatically thus considerably reducing the cost. The various stages of feeding the paste into the moulds, cooking the waffles, splitting them into two, introducing the filling and closing the two halves to form a sandwich are co-ordinated and synchronised by a central controller.</p> |
