The drum may include axial bars 3 of rubber or plastics whose free, radially outer edges are curved, the bars being thicker in the middle than at the ends. The curvature may be smooth or may be simplified (Fig. 3, not shown) to present a drum periphery of double frusto-conical form. The bars in the latter case may be divided at the median plane of the drum. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the drum periphery is formed by a perforate metal shell. |
